Data Engineer / Scientist
Design scalable data platforms, develop quantitative models, and turn complex data into insights that support trading and secure operations.
Your role
You will contribute across the full data lifecycle, including:
- Designing and improving data-intensive components of our proprietary software platforms
- Building and maintaining data pipelines, validation processes, and analytics for forecasting and ETRM systems
- Translating business-critical requirements into reliable, scalable data solutions
- Delivering insights through analysis, visualization, and clear communication
As a Data Scientist / Quant Developer, you will:
- Support short-term portfolio managers with market analysis and strategy development
- Identify patterns in energy, price, and weather data to optimize portfolios
- Validate which strategies can be automated and develop algorithms in Python
- Challenge and monitor the performance of forecasting models
- Stay ahead of market and technology developments
You are also co-responsible for the operational reliability of our platforms:
- Monitoring live systems and algorithms
- Intervening when processes fail and analyzing root causes
- Turning operational experience into more robust systems that reduce financial and operational risk

Your background
- A Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
- 3–5 years (or more) experience in data engineering, data science, or quantitative development
- Strong Python skills for data processing and algorithm development
- Experience with data pipelines, validation, and visualization
- Knowledge of forecasting models and/or machine learning techniques
- Familiarity with ETRM systems is a strong plus
- Experience with cloud platforms, databases, and APIs is an advantage
- Fluent in English (Dutch or French is a plus)
